Hi, I’m Kat. I have worked at the club for more than 15 years and my family, including three sons, have all been involved at some point in the club or clubs on site. My eldest son, Josh, at the age of 28, is still heavily involved as captain of the Sheffield Collegiate Cricket Club 1st team here at Abbeydale. I have witnessed and experienced many changes at the club along the way, including the refurbishment and modernisation of our building and the implementation of new and more modern methods and systems including the online booking system, which allows all members to organise, book and pay for squash courts simply and efficiently. I have seen the gym increase in size through the utilisation of areas of the club which were previously unused, to great effect. Due to the variety on offer here, we attract members of all ages from the young, right through to the mature adults and the reasons go beyond just keeping fit and healthy in body. Many members need and enjoy the social interaction that the club provides too, which is as important for mental health, as has been confirmed in the media recently.

I feel that the most important part of my job is to ensure that everyone gets a warm welcome and has a positive and happy experience whilst at the club.
